Greater confidence and self esteem are a by-product of pursuing and achieving these goals, but having some degree of confidence is vital in the first place in order to meet challenges head on. Knowing that you can achieve your goals, and to subsequently prove yourself right is a great feeling and serves to further reinforce confidence in yourself.
That isn’t to say that failure can’t teach us something – when we are passionately striving to meet our goals, failure can be seen as a valuable lesson, a ‘necessary evil’ that allows us to refine our approach. In the words of Thomas Edison, ”I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work”. Having confidence in our abilities, a strong sense of self, and a clear, definable goal can help guide us through any challenges which may arise.
Providing your goals are ‘S.M.A.R.T – Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Time-bound, you can meet any challenge you set your mind to. When choosing your goals, choose ones that are meaningful to you.

Most of the work will be down to you, but this affirmation audio will help alter your mindset and cultivate a single-minded approach towards success. Over time this will communicate to your subconscious mind the importance of achieving these goals. Just as a misanthrope confirms his own subjective reality through self-fulfilling-prophecy, so too will you learn to see opportunities for growth and success; solutions to problems that may arise, and your own success & self worth reflected back at you.
Firstly, write down your goals and objectives on a piece of paper or on some post it notes – remember to make them S.M.A.R.T (see above). Stick these up around your house, apartment etc. You may even wish to write out the affirmations in this audio as well. You don’t have to do this, but these drastic approaches can go a long way to conditioning your mind.
Listen during the night as you sleep and/or during more active listening sessions, i.e. while conscious, during meditation/relaxation sessions. At the start of each session, relax your mind and body, then begin to visualise yourself achieving these goals – try to incorporate all senses – visual, auditory, olfactory and kinesthetic. Spend as long as you like doing this exercise then either fall asleep to the audio or continue meditating. Try out various approaches and find what works best for you as everyone is different. Try this out for 30 days and at the same time, take action towards your clearly defined goals.
